The estate was originally built by Ken De Baun in 1990, as the tasting room and special events site for his winery, Chateau de Baun. Kendall Jackson purchased the building in 1996 to be used as an educational destination for all things food and wine. The winery team asked Nordby Construction to refresh the exterior and first-floor interior hospitality spaces within the existing estate building and add a commercial show kitchen in a separate but connected structure.

The new kitchen augments a small existing commercial kitchen located within the original estate. Outfitted with the best commercial appliances available, the new kitchen is designed to maximize functionality and efficiency, while maintaining visibility from the adjacent hospitality spaces.

Visible through louvered openings, it provides a forum for education and entertainment, as well as being a highly functioning culinary space. The building team also added a separate, secondary structure to the property, devoted to dry storage.
