Marin Country Club
The Marin Country Club is a community and family-oriented golf club, set in the rolling hills of northern Marin County, that includes an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, fitness area, kids’ camps and dining. This 24,0000-square-foot project created a new, larger clubhouse on the site of the original clubhouse, which first opened its doors in 1957.
Set on a small rise adjacent to the golf course, the building design takes advantage of the varied topography with a split-level design that maximizes views of the course while minimizing the building’s visual impact on the site. The ground level houses the kitchen, bar, restaurant, event spaces and administrative offices. Dining, bar and event spaces are all oriented toward the expansive golf course views.Tucked partially below grade, the structure’s lower level, which opens directly onto the course, holds men’s and women’s locker rooms, maintenance and back-of-house space. The old-world design is gracious and timeless, with a double-height, octagonal entry that is simultaneously grand and welcoming.
